Why announcement dates matter

FIFA announced the Brazil tournament window in December 2024, well before the 2027 event. Repeating that announcement today does not make it a new decision.

Our summaries show their own publication date. When a material change is verified, a new update should state what changed and link to the organizer.

Announcement — when the organizer made a decision
Event window — when the competition is scheduled
Publication — when this summary appeared
Correction — a clearly identified change, not a silent rewrite

Record labels

Status and date key

A listed time must include its time zone. Where an event spans dates or locations, the record should explain which local date governs and provide a universal reference when useful.

Confirmed: Supported by an identifiable authoritative source
Unconfirmed: Reported but not sufficiently established
Postponed: Moved from the prior schedule; replacement date may be unknown
Cancelled: Organizer says the event will not proceed as scheduled
Disputed: Credible sources conflict on a material fact
Archived: Historical record, not a statement of current status
